Find out why Sargent Crabapple is the best dwarf tree for small yards and cozy spaces! This naturally small beauty grows to be only 8 to 10 feet tall and 12 feet wide, so it can fit in places where bigger crabapples can’t.
In the spring, you’ll see a stunning display of pink buds opening up to a lot of fragrant white flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies. In the fall, the dark green leaves turn a happy golden yellow, and tiny bright red crabapples appear. They stay through the winter to feed hungry birds and look beautiful against the snow.
The unique horizontal, zigzag branching gives Sargent Crabapple a lot of architectural interest all year long, which is why it’s also a popular bonsai tree! This low-maintenance gem is very hardy (zones 4-8) and resistant to disease. It grows well in a variety of soils and can even handle drought once it is established.
Great for planting in groups for maximum effect, as well as for shrub borders, hedges, slopes, and patios. Wildlife will love you, and you’ll love the effortless beauty!
