Honeycrisp Apple (Malus ‘Fruit Honeycrisp’) – 5 gallon 60″

Honeycrisp revolutionized the apple industry with its extraordinary explosive crunch and perfect sweet-tart balance. Developed by the University of Minnesota in 1960, this premium variety thrives in Zones 3-7, offering exceptional cold hardiness. Large, attractive fruit features red blush over yellow background with uniquely crisp, juicy cells that create an unmatched eating experience. Harvest occurs mid-September. Trees reach 12-15 feet and require cross-pollination with varieties like Gala, Fuji, or Pink Lady. Honeycrisp commands premium prices—often double standard varieties—due to intense consumer demand and brand loyalty. The fruit stores well (3-4 months refrigerated) when properly handled. While requiring attentive management, Honeycrisp’s profitability and market dominance make it essential for commercial operations and a showpiece for home orchards.
