If you’re looking for a flowering tree that truly earns its name, Stellar Nova is your star. This upright hybrid dogwood bursts into late-spring bloom with huge, bright white flowers—larger than most Kousa dogwoods—creating a stunning show right when your garden is heating up.
Standing 20–25 feet tall, this vigorous grower makes a strong statement as a centerpiece or backdrop in the landscape. The flowers appear as oversized star-like bracts that cover the canopy, offering a radiant contrast to other spring bloomers like Scarlet Fire™. And even after the show, Stellar Nova keeps giving—its deep green leaves stay dense, glossy, and unbothered by summer heat.
It’s not just pretty—it’s tough. Stellar Nova is more tolerant of disease, drought, and high temps than many traditional flowering dogwoods. It’s happy in full sun or part shade, as long as the soil drains well. Just plant it, water it in, and enjoy years of low-maintenance beauty.
Whether you want a standout specimen or a graceful border tree with presence, Stellar Nova is your go-to for show-stopping spring blooms and garden resilience.
